July Newsletter | “Log of the Trail”

Meeting Announcement: Our July meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Fort Davis Public Library in Fort Davis, TX. If you wish to carpool from Alpine, meet us in the Big Bend Telephone parking lot before we depart at 6:30 pm sharp.

Program: How do you plot a story?  The Texas Mountain Trail Writers will have a discussion on plotting short stories, novel, even poems at their next meeting.  All writers, experienced or not, are welcome to come and share techniques.  Bring your charts, your outlines, your seat of the pants ideas – whatever works for you.  We’ll learn together.

President Ramblings

July started with a bang in the Big Bend.  Fireworks, parades, food booths, and music were all over the place.  I hope your writing for this month starts the same way.  May your characters sparkle and your plots flash with brilliance.  Speaking of plots – our next summer meeting discussion will be on that topic.  Please bring hints, ideas, lists, formal charts, or whatever you use to plot your novels, short stories, or even your poems.  Bring ideas you wished you could try or your tried and true methods.  We can all improve. This is a chance to share and learn from each other.
