About TMTW

The Texas Mountain Trail Writers is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to provide a forum for information, support, and sharing among writers, to help members improve and market their writing skills, and to promote the interests of writers and the writing community. The Texas Mountain Trail Writers supports writing contests for school students, scholarships for writing seminars, monetary gifts to local libraries, and participates in local writing contests.

With approximately 50 members in several  states, we are composed of published and unpublished writers as well as those who recognize the written word as art and simply love to read.

Our name, Texas Mountain Trail Writers, reflects our membership base, over 50% of which resides within the Big Bend Region, and represents the special programs we offer to the entire community of Texas writers.

Our Mission

The Texas Mountain Trail Writers promotes literacy and elevates the art of writing.

Funding

We are funded solely through our members and our Annual Spring Writers Retreat. Our members also contribute a great deal of time and money to help us achieve our mission. Learn how you can become a member.
