Meeting Announcement: Our November meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church’sF ellowship Hall in Alpine, TX.

Program: “National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo” presented by Anne Van Loon. There will be writing games, snacks, and updates from our participants.

November is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Some of our members participate every year, others once in awhile, and still other lurk in the corners, not signing up, but setting personal goals in private. All of these are perfectly acceptable ways to get those words on paper. NaNoWriMo encourages volume of words and leaving your in-the-head editor and critic locked in the basement. Of course if you really write those 1,667 words a day for thirty days to reach the 50,000 word goal, you could have a mess. But it will be 50,000 words you didn’t have before and could be the best rough diamonds of prose you ever wrote!
